Formerly known as Zee Telefilms, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Private Limited is an Indian broadcasting network with its headquarters located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It produces and distributes material for cinema, television, print, the internet, and other associated media, and it operates over 45 television stations in both SD and HD around the globe. To operate television channels, Zee Entertainment and Zee Media Corporation Limited collaborate independently. Zee Media Corporation Limited is the parent company of all general entertainment, film, music, kids, and lifestyle channels available in Hindi, English, and other regional languages.
India celebrated 30 years of private satellite television on October 2, 2022. On this day, Zed TV, the country’s first native satellite station, also marked 30 years in business. Punit Goenka, MD & CEO of ZEEL, who has led the media conglomerate’s growth since 2008, declared that the business would keep pushing the growth agenda for the media & entertainment (M&E) sector.

Zee Telefilms, the name under which the firm was first founded on December 15, 1991, was used until 2006.
The first premium movie channel of its kind in the nation, Zee Cinema, was introduced by the firm in April 1995. ZeeCinema has also catered to foreign markets in the years that have followed, including those in South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Zee Motion Pictures and Zee Studios were established by Zee Networks in 2008 with the goal of developing, producing, distributing, and commercialising popular Indian languages films, such as Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and others.
With the introduction of its OTT platform OZEE in February 2016, Zee Entertainment Enterprises ventured into the world of video-on-demand. ZEE5 was the new name of this service as of February 14, 2018. It has streamed every episode of its television network as well as films and original shows since relaunching as ZEE5. In December 2019, ZEE5 reported 57 million monthly active users.
