While there are several streaming services available, Netflix continues to be the most popular one, offering everything from cherished old films and television series like Friends to incredible original content like The Witcher. In contrast to many of its competitors, Netflix provides a variety of plans to suit a range of demands and budgets. One of the most expensive OTT plans available in India is provided by Netflix, the largest OTT platform globally. However, Netflix supports it with its library of high-quality material, which includes some of the most well-known streaming properties, like Money Heist, Squid Game, and Stranger Things.
Netflix Subscription Plans
First of all, there is no longer a 30-day free trial available on Netflix. Thus, if this is your first time using Netflix and you’re not sure whether to go for the more expensive plan, choose one of the cheaper options and benefit from the upgrade for 30 days without having to pay more. You will have the choice to continue with your existing plan or upgrade to the more expensive one when your trial period expires.
We’ve also calculated the annual cost of a monthly membership in case money is your top priority. But be aware that there are no annual plans available for Netflix; you can only pay for it every month. A monthly rolling subscription is always cancelable.

Netflix Rs 149 mobile-only plan
This plan is limited to using Netflix on a smartphone or tablet, as its name implies. One screen at a time can be used to watch content with the Rs 149 mobile-only subscription. You cannot use your Netflix account with this plan on an Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, or any other big-screen device, including computers and iPads since it is only for usage on mobile devices. Only 480p content is available for streaming. Devices running Android OS 5.0 (Lollipop) or above, Fire OS 5.0 or higher, or iOS 12.0 or higher are compatible with the Mobile Plan. If you would rather only use your phone to access and consume material, this plan may be helpful to you. You will ultimately spend Rs 1,788 per year for this cell plan. Users who have the package can also download films and television shows for offline watching.
Netflix Basic Rs 199 plan
The Rs 199 plan is ideal for you if you use Netflix on many devices, including a tablet, computer, or TV, in addition to your phone. The only restriction is that Netflix will only ever run on one screen at a time. The only possible resolutions for content are HD and 720p. Users who have the package can also download films and television shows for offline watching. The plan has an annual fee of Rs 2,388.
You won’t be shortchanged on material because Netflix Basic still gets access to the whole catalogue of films and TV series. The primary limitations pertain to the maximum number of concurrent streams and the resolutions at which you may stream. High-definition (HD) or 720p streaming is now available on Netflix Basic. This holds for your laptop, phone, and TV, among other devices. This won’t be a big deal to you if you’re using an older TV that can’t handle higher qualities to watch Netflix.
Netflix Standard Rs 499 plan
The Rs 499 plan lets you watch video on two devices (screens) simultaneously at 1080p Full HD resolution, in contrast to the Rs 199 plan, which only lets you stream content on one device at a time. Additionally, one may simultaneously download their preferred TV series and films onto two compatible devices. The plan has an annual fee of Rs 5,988.
The all-arounder Standard account is the most widely used Netflix package. You can watch it up to 1080p on Netflix Standard, so your image quality will be respectable on whichever device you’re using. This account is ideal for friends who like Netflix at the same time as you or for several family members who prefer to watch from different rooms in the home because it allows for twice as many simultaneous streams. However, as previously said, you are still not getting the maximum number of displays with this plan. Think about who you’ll be sharing your plan with and how much money you can afford to spend each month.
Netflix Premium Rs 649 plan
A family plan that allows the account to be viewed on four screens at once is the Rs 649 plan. Ultra High Definition (UHD) or 4K streaming is available on Netflix’s Premium tier if you want to maximise the viewing experience on your 4K television or laptop. With four simultaneous streams and four devices to save downloads on, Netflix Premium is the best account for sharing within your household, if that’s your primary objective. Big groups and families will also be glad to utilise it.
You may stream everything in Ultra HD (4K). Also, the Premium plan allows users to download films and TV series to up to six devices simultaneously and supports Netflix Spatial Audio. The plan has an annual membership fee of Rs 7,788.
Netflix TV Plans
If you want to use Netflix for your entertainment purposes, you may add it to your TV bill along with other add-ons from companies like Virgin and Sky. This way, everything will be paid for at once. You can’t stream Netflix on your smart TV with every Netflix plan. Premium Netflix plans are required. These plans are as follows:
Plan Name |
Plan Price |
Video Quality |
Basic |
Rs 199 per month |
720p |
Standard |
Rs 499 per month |
1080p |
Premium |
Rs 649 per month |
4K |
The Standard plan caps at 1080p, and the Basic plan at 720p, therefore if you have a 4K TV, the Premium plan makes more sense because it would be a poor quality experience. However, as your TV only supports 1080p video resolution, the Premium plan won’t work for you if you have a Full HD monitor. If you’re on a tight budget, you may also choose the Basic package, which gives 720p streaming.

Conclusion
In conclusion, you may save some money by using Standard with Ads if all you want to do is stream the occasional bit here and there on a single device. Choose Premium if you’re on the opposite extreme of the spectrum, intend to stream frequently, and share your account with others to get the highest visual quality. Alternatively, stay with Standard and get the best of both worlds in terms of cost and benefits. Think about who you want to share the account with, how much it will cost, and the kinds of devices you can use to see your information.
